Velvet Flowers by Montale begins with Saffron and Peach Blossom, creating a spiced and fruity opening before the composition moves into its central accord.

At the heart, Centifolia Rose, Lebanese Jasmine, and Comoros Ylang-Ylang develops the fragrance’s character. The dry down settles into Gurjun Balsam, giving the composition an ambered finish.

The progression from Saffron and Peach Blossom through Centifolia Rose and Lebanese Jasmine to Gurjun Balsam creates a spiced, fruity, floral, and ambered profile, with each stage preserving a distinct place in the fragrance’s development.

Montale was established in Paris in 2003 after Pierre Montale’s travels in the Arabian region helped shape his interest in oud and other aromatic materials. Oud remains central to the house’s identity, alongside rose, flowers, woods, and warm accords.

Its approach brings these influences into a Parisian perfume setting, with compositions that emphasize recognizable materials and expressive combinations. The breadth of the collection allows different facets of the house to emerge, from floral interpretations to deeper woody and resinous directions.
