In 1949, as he was composing Or et Noir, Michel Morsetti was captivated by the many nuances of rose and chose to explore another facet of the queen of flowers, which this time gave the composition its name.

Rose evokes the delicateness of a rosebud picked at dawn, the fragrance of wild roses.

Recreating this pure, almost ethereal note, required nearly thirty different natural essences, selected from among the most sought after and costly.

Caron is a French perfume house founded in 1904, with a history shaped by perfumer Ernest Daltroff and Félicie Wanpouille. Their creative partnership established a tradition of expressive compositions and distinctive presentation.

The house’s heritage includes fragrances such as Tabac Blond and Pour Un Homme, reflecting different moments in the evolution of modern perfumery. Caron continues to explore contrasts between materials and styles, connecting its historical identity to new creations. Its appeal lies in that conversation between a substantial perfume archive and a willingness to reinterpret it.
